Introduction

Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal UN Peace Keeping Training School is located in Kakani Rural Municipality, Ward no. 5 of Nuwakot district which is spread over 57-2-0-3 Ropanis of land. This training school is located 27 km northwest direction from capital city Kathmandu with map sheet no. 278502 C, G.R.

245778. It measures an elevation of about 2020 meters above sea level. The school is surrounded by Likhu Khola on the north, Okharpauwa/Tinpiple on the south, east by Shivapuri-Nagarjun National Park, and west by Ranipouwa /Belkotgadhi respectively.

Before the establishment of this training school with the motto KNOWLEDGE, PEACE, NEUTRALITY, Dipendra Police School of Nepal Police had been established on 14 of Poush 2042 BS. Dipendra Police School was then transferred and established to Police Training Centre as per the decision of the cabinet on 18th of Ashad 2047. After establishment of APF, Nepal it was handed over to the APF, Nepal as Talim Mahavidhyalaya. Due to the lack of parade ground and difficulty in conducting various trainings and other activities, the Talim Mahavidhyalaya was relocated at Pokhara of Kaski district. Then, the unit operated as security base of APF, Nepal since 2061 BS. Later, National Armed Police Force Academy was established in 2065 BS to replace the security base.

Since the establishment of the National Armed Police Force Academy in 2065

BS, it shifted to Matatirtha, Kathmandu and APF UN Peacekeeping Training Center was established on 22nd of Mangsir 2068 BS. Since 13th of Shrawan 2075, it started functioning as APF, Nepal UN Peacekeeping Training School and acting as the center of excellence in peacekeeping, with a special niche in organizing integrated training programs that enable APF personnel to uphold the highest standard of Integrity, Professionalism and Respect for the dignity of the human person in Peacekeeping Operations around the globe. The school has been producing skilled and professional human resources by conducting basic and other advance trainings along with the main responsibility of conducting Pre Deployment Training for the FPU of Nepalese Contingent.
