It is my great honor to serve as the Commandant of the Armed Police Force, Nepal United Nations Peacekeeping Training School, (APF, Nepal UNPTS). I am strongly committed in upholding and continuing the professional excellence of this training school enriching the quality of training to maintain the motto of this school: Knowledge, Peace, and Neutrality. Our goal is to prepare dedicated and trained manpower from Armed Police Force, Nepal for peacekeeping operations in various regions of the world with providing other trainings related with mandates of Armed Police Force, Nepal.
Peacekeeping is not a simple job, it is also a commitment to the ideals of peace, security and human dignity. Our training program is designed according to Integrated Training Service (ITS) of the Department of Peace Operations (DPO) especially for Formed Police Unit Training. Our trained FPU Instructors deliver Core Pre-deployment Training Materials (CPTM), Firearms, Police Tactics & Techniques (PTT), Public Order Management (POM) and Unarmed Combat (UC) to the FPU trainees before deployment of UN missions so that they can prepared to meet the diverse challenges they will encounter in the field.
We emphasize the UN core values of Integrity, Professionalism, and Respect for diversity. As peacekeepers, we represent the United Nations and its commitment to peace and stability in the field of United Nations as well as follow the principles of human rights. Our experienced instructors, who has field experience, guide to FPU trainees through realistic simulations and scenarios. This hands on approach is designed to hone trainee’s decision-making abilities and ensure they are well-prepared to protect civilians, support conflict resolution and facilitate humanitarian assistance.
I am committed to build this Peacekeeping Training School more advance training center and faculties for more professionalism and dedication. I believe that every person has the potential to succeed and that all obstacles can be overcome with persistence and support which this school is providing.
